A Lovely Day in Hell

A point and click adventure. Your one verb is summon.

In development. No release date yet.

About the Game

You step off a curb on an ordinary wet night and wake up somewhere very polite. Hell is not fire, it is a hierarchy, and you have arrived at the bottom of it with nothing to trade but yourself. Your one verb is summon. What you build with it, and who you spend to build it, is the whole game.

Features

One verb

You summon. That is the entire interface. Every puzzle is a question about what to call up and what it costs you.

A cast that remembers

Pell keeps you company whether or not you are kind to her. The Assayer prices you on arrival and never stops.

Drawn in code

Every figure, every crack in the floor and every ember is drawn procedurally rather than painted, so it stays sharp at any size.

Hell runs on a schedule

Be worth something by dusk. The yard does not wait for you.

The Cast

You, wearing a cracked pale mask and a dark robe with copper seams
You
Pell in her dark hood and pale mask
Pell
The Assayer's pointed mask and gold eye slits, behind his scales
The Assayer

Everyone dead wears a mask. It is the face you used to have, worn on the outside.
